Headlights won't retract 89S4. I checked the fuses, they are ok...

So, the motor activates and turns the lights up, but they don’t come back down? Have you watched the motor to see if it’s turning the arm for retraction?

When I removed the headlight motor, the rust made my motor lose contact and it made the lights not stay up.


I cleaned it up and then it worked full range perfectly.

Rotated the headlight motor to retract the lights. No the headlights go up but will not lower. Relay.

Pulled the relay - It's a .01 revision. It should be a .04. And the cover has been off in the past.

Pulled the same relay from my 90 parts car and it's a .01, too.

My understanding is the 89+ relays spin the motor 180 degrees and back. Earlier versions spin the motor a full 360 degrees.

And it would appear using the earlier revision is popular. :-)

I now have 2 .01s and one .02.
